Monthly Archives: March 2009

Can there be a much better way to start the working week than by heading out with my camera to the coast to take a few photos? If there is, drop me a line, as I would love to know.

The sea has always fascinated me. There is something in the sheer uncontrolable nature of the oceans that draws me to the coast whenever I get the chance. At a time when man has essentially become his own God, the sea is a reminder that there are powers greater than us at work on this tiny planet, and they are not necessarily spiritual. Nature simply tolerates us, and the sea is proof of this. We cannot control it, we cannot fight it and we most certainly cannot ignore it. I hope a few of the shots I got today convey this. I’ll be adding them to a new set on my Flickr entitled simply The Coast, and the first three are up there now.

Three new sets just uploaded to Flickr of a great show at The End in Newcastle on March 12th 2009. Casio Kids, The Answering Machine and Flashguns all turned in superb shifts, and the photos turned out well too!

I’ve just taken a look at my Flickr stats, and it turns out that the sets I uploaded yesterday spurred my views on to a new personal best. 361 views in total yesterday, which is more than double the previous record. Thanks to anyone who took a look, hope you like the shots! For those of you who fancy taking a look, you can find my Flickr page at: http://www.flickr.com/travellingman06
